Now it simply teems from the huge number of fish, both local and imported species. Gigantic Mekong catfish (15-100kg) is the most attractive fish of “Bung Sam Lan Lake”, it is also called “flush truck, a fish that every fisherman should try to catch even once in life. Of all the freshwater fish in the Mekong catfish is the largest resistance of forcing per unit weight.

In addition to this in this lake you can always catch striped catfish (5-15kg), giant Siamese Carp (the 20-100kg) and other fish species of the Asian region.

Srinkarin Reservoir

Forestry perch can be caught in Srinakarin Reservoir near the border with Burma. This artificial reservoir is about 50 miles long, was formed by constructing a dam at the confluence of two rivers in a vast valley covered with forests. Thousands of channels and the inflow of the lake have become an excellent habitat for hundreds of different species of fish, one of which is a giant snakehead. This region is almost entirely uninhabitable, there are very few tourists, only small local fishing villages. This is a small pond with a unique set of exotic fish species brought from various destinations of Asia, Australia and the Amazon. At this lake you are allowed to use only a few fishing methods (spinning with artificial bait and fly). This might turn to be a surprise for some of you. But the thing is that the huge amount of the fishermen, who are not acquainted with fishing that well do lots of harm to the lake. That’s why the administration decided to make only a few exceptions for the true fishermen.

As with the rest of the techniques in the Lake of predators even a novice fisherman can become a world record holder, and thus our Thai partners are pleased to organize the registration record in the IGFA (International Organization for Registration of the world’s fishing records).
