Ko Samui (and this is the full name of the resort, as in Thai prefix” co-”refers to the word” island “), located 80 kilometers from the mainland and 560 kilometers from Bangkok. It is the largest island among their vast accumulations at the site of the ocean, where only 4 inhabited islands.
Samui has its own airport, connected by air from Bangkok. From the mainland town of Surat Thani, there is a ferry.Samui is the third largest island of Thailand and has a width of 21 km, and at length – 25. Travelling around the island is easy: it is surrounded by a 50 kilometer road ring that connects all the beaches with the administrative center, a city on Thon. The most convenient means of transportation on Samui is a motorcycle, which is very easy to rent, as from the public transportation- taxi.
The island is not devoid of those places you can go on trips. The main attractions are two waterfalls. One of them, Hin Lat, located near the city falls down a cascade of steps. At its base there is a small lake, ideal for swimming in clean water. Another waterfall at Muang it’s much more picturesque. It is located in the eastern part of the island.This very impressive waterfall has 30-meter width. It also falls in a very scenic lake with the purest water.

On the neighboring island called Ko-Fan, connected to Samui artificial causeway, there is a Buddhist temple “Wat Hit Ngy”. At its very center there is a huge statue of a seated Buddha, his enigmatic gaze fixed on the horizon line in the place where the sun rises.
If you still can not sit still and do not you just want to sunbathe and swim, then a small pleasure boat will take you to nearby islands. The largest of these is called Ko Ngan. You can if you wish to stay for a few days in a picturesquely situated on the banks of the bungalow. The beaches here are excellent and, moreover, is picturesque waterfalls.

Not far away there are a few similar islands. They are called Ko Tao and Ko Nang Yang. They attract tourists with their ideal conditions for scuba diving among tropical fish and coral.
