1. Temple of Reclining Buddha (Wat Po).

The main attraction of this temple is a huge statue of Reclining Buddha (length – 46 meters, height – 15 meters). The statue is covered with gold leaf and inlaid with pearl in the eyes and legs. Bangkok was not the capital then, and the temple had been standing there for almost 2 centuries. In addition to the huge statue of Buddha in the area of the temple there are still about 1000 images of higher Buddhist beings. There can also be seen 4 famous things built in honor of the first three kings of the Chakri dynasty, the Chinese stone statues, garden of stones, bronze statues of Buddha and many more.
Earlier in the Wat Po was located the first university of the kingdom. Apart from the basic sciences, teaching of traditional Thai medicine was carried out.
